Now you can have a glass of wine or locally brewed beer at the mall without restauranting.
Prosperity Craft Beer & Wine Bar has opened next to The Container Store in Town Center at Boca Raton. Hours are 2 to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
If the name sounds familiar, the bar features craft beer from Boca’s own Prosperity Brewers, founded by Dom Peri and Ken Gross. The bar is separately owned and operated.
Five of Prosperity’s beers are always on tap with three seasonal brews rotating, Peri said. They’re $8. So is Hiro Junmai sake. Also featured are non-alcoholic drinks: sodas, seltzers, sake, cider, energy drink, mineral water and and kombucha, a fermented tea.
There’s 30 red and white wines, most by the glass and three with bubbles.
The bar will have snacks only including Brown Bag popcorn, also locally produced. Patrons can bring in or order food from nearby Zinburger’s, Pummarola Pastificio Pizzeria or other mall eateries, Peri said.
This is a bright open space at the end of a corridor under an atrium. There’s 14 bar stools, six at a hi-top, and more seating at upholstered chairs and sofas. The area can hold 20 to at least 200 for private events, Peri noted.
You can’t walk the mall with a drink. “No alcohol beyond this point,” a sign says. But you can bring in kids, as long as they don’t sit at the bar under 21. If they’re minors, they must be with an adult.
You’ll know you’re in the right place with images of Tank the bulldog on the wall. He’s the mascot. You may even get to meet him.
Prosperity shares this space with The Gallery Lounge in a conventional store front. That’s a new take on creating art by noted Boca Raton artist Salvatore Principe.
The two mall tenants were put together on purpose. “We’re collaborating to create an experience. I love that we’re paired with a famous artist,” Peri said.
