Sindy Posso’s bringing her family’s artisan popsicle emporium from Miami to Mizner Park, hoping her desserts will attract a different crowd.
Cielito Artisan Pops, offering hand-crafted frozen treats and gifts, opens 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 6 on the north end near Sur La Table. Posso and crew have worked since January to transform the space. So, the timing to open her second location was now, she said. “We’re very positive about it,” she added. “Our Mizner Park location will have a family-friendly and dog-friendly ambiance and artsy feel, offering indoor and outdoor seating.”
Here’s what they sell: Starting at $5, fruit pops made from seasonal fruit. Ice cream pops made from scratch using hormone-free dairy, egg yolks and cane sugar. Custom pops with bean-to-bar chocolate. “You can get creative and add toppings to create your own pop with organic sprinkles, vegan marshmallows, caramelized cocoa beans, sliced almonds and more,” Posso said in the announcement.
Each pop is hand-crafted daily in small batches. The mixes, fillings, jams and baked goods are made in-house with more than 40 flavors each week. The popsicles are kosher, she said. “We’ll do chocolate chili for Boca with pieces of red chili peppers on one side of the popsicle. It’s like an art piece you eat.”
Posso said she grew up in Colombia in a family of bakers and now she works with her mother and husband at the Wynwood location. So “old family recipes” are really true, she told Boca Voice.
Cielito also offers nationwide shipping with dry ice, and to-go boxes “so they can order online or curbside service.” An Italian-crafted mobile cart can take Cielito on the road for special events.
