The signs were still up on Monday, but Madisons New York Grille and Bar’s last day was May 13. On Friday, Steve Tsatas sold the restaurant and two acres at 2006 NW Executive Center Circle for $16,250,000 to Gallaghers New York Steakhouse. That owner is expected to totally gut the place to give it a new look. It’s expected to be closed for a year, said Tsatas, who has other plans.
Tstatas has demolished three buildings in an old strip mall on the Intracoastal at 3200 E. Atlantic Ave. in Pompano Beach. He hopes to open two restaurants, Italian and a sushi and steakhouse, by November, he said. A breakfast eatery will come next, he added. He hasn’t chosen names yet.
On Monday May 17, he was waiting for a truck from Boca Helping Hands to pick up the last of the food. Madisons’ staff have found other work, he said.
Tsatas, a longtime restaurateur with New York restaurant roots, said he loved serving a Boca clientele. “I want to thank all our wonderful clients who frequented us for the last seven years,” he said.
