Just Salad opens in Boca Center

After a soft opening, Just Salad officially opens for business on Friday in the Boca Center on Military Trail.

The New York-based network of more than 40 locations and the third in Florida offers eat-in, takeout, delivery and catering. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

To kick off the grand opening, the restaurant’s offering $2 meals Friday only from noon to 1:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. to Instagram followers at @justsalad

Diners who download Just Salad’s app by Jan. 31 will be entered to win one of five unlimited salad bowls, which includes a week of free salads.

Reusable bowls is just one thing that separates Just Salad from other casual healthy dining spots, said CEO and founder Nick Kenner, in town for two Boca openings. Just Salad will also move into the new Uptown Boca, 38 acres of retail and residential on Glades Road in West Boca, he added.

The 75,000 pounds of plastics saved would equal the height of the Empire State Building, he said about the bowls.

But offering healthy food is paramount. “We’re the Trader Joe’s of fast casual,” Kenner said.

Each menu item has a description of course, and the calorie count. Just Salad offers 11 salads or build your own; warm bowls, wraps, five smoothies, two avocado toasts and two soups. Kenner mentioned two local farms providing vegetables and herbs.

There are 18 house-made dressings, from yogurt cucumber to chipotle, balsamic and creamy Caesar. They offer combos like pick two. Beverages include green juices and house-made teas.

This location has seating for 63 at tables and banquettes after diners choose and receive their food. There’s a counter at the window and Kenner expects outdoor tables soon.

He picked the East Boca location for parking convenience, the offices across the way and the Marriott Boca Raton Hotel on the same site.

Just Salads uses Uber Eats and Grubhub for deliveries. Diners can email orders for pickup, even during peak hours, he said.

“We cater from the menu and things like sandwiches that are not available in the store,” Kenner said.
