FAU gala returns; airport food drive; Junior League anniversary

FAU Gala tickets: Tickets are already on sale for Florida Atlantic University President’s Gala a year from now.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. April 2, 2022, traditionally in the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower at FAU Stadium. There will be gourmet dining, an open bar, fireworks and live entertainment.

Tickets are $300  Proceeds will go to the Kelly Family Scholarship Fund established by FAU President John and First Lady Carolyn Kelly in 2014.

Boca airport collecting food donations: Boca Raton Airport, partnering with Boca Helping Hands, is accepting non-perishable canned goods at these locations now through April 26.

Junior League sets anniversary bash: Launched in 1971, the Junior League of Boca Raton is celebrating its 50th Anniversary at 7 p.m. Thursday Sept. 23 at The Addison.

The event will include dining, an open bar, entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets are $171 at

Co-chairs are Debbie Abrams and Elizabeth Kelley Grace. Honorary co-chairs are Anne Vegso, Marina Morbeck and Betsy Eisenberg. Program chairs are Nicole Mugavero and Anne Costello. Design chair is Clarrisa Gleichenhaus.

Since the organization’s founding, members have provided more than 1 million hours of community service and each year donates $250,000 to community projects.

“Our 50th Anniversary Celebration will be a tribute to the thousands of women who have been members of the Junior League over the years and the important work they have done for our community,” League president Cristy Stewart-Harfmann said in a statement.
