The Wick Theatre’s in rehearsal for “Evita,” their second Broadway production of the season.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice show won Tony Awards for best musical and revival. The show centers on Eva Peron’s rise to power as the second wife of Argentina President Juan Peron.
Coloratura soprano Daniella Mass will play Evita. The Colombian-born vocalist has performed with Andrea Bocelli and IL Volo. Mass was a semi-finalist in season 10 of “American’s Got Talent.”
“Daniella performed here with Nestor Torres and we wanted to collaborate with her again,” said Marilynn Wick, managing executive producer.
Juan Peron will be played by Sean McDermott. He has 16 Broadway and musical theater credits including “Miss Saigon,” “Grease,” “Chicago” and “Falsettos” opposite Mandy Patinkin. His bio includes appearances with Barbra Streisand and Bernadette Peters.
Tickets are on sale for the run from a preview Jan. 16, opening night Jan. 18 and through Feb. 23. Performances are Wednesdays through Sundays and include 2 p.m. matinees and 7:30 p.m. shows. Tickets are $75 to $95 through the box office at 561-995-2333 or https://thewick.org/
