Boca West Children’s Foundation is partnering with Junior League of Boca Raton for urgent donations to the league’s diaper bank. “The situation is so serious this year that we have set a goal of delivering 100,000 diapers; double last year’s drive,” the foundation announced. “As evidenced by the lines at food distribution sites, many more people throughout the county than in the past are struggling to put food on the table. For many of these families, buying diapers is simply not in their budget.” The Junior League headquarters at 261 NW 13th St. is the drop-off point for disposable diapers, during normal working hours through February or go to https://www.bocawestfoundation.org/# to designate a donation.
The save-the-date went out for Brain Bowl Bark & Browse, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 in the Mary Lou Berger Pavilion in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park in west Boca. https://brainbowlevents.org/
Announcing this outdoor event with time to spare, instead of the seventh annual luncheon, gives sponsors and volunteers time to sign on. Vendors are offered a discount at $150 through Jan. 30. Afterwards it’s $300. https://brainbowlevents.org/tickets/vendor-space
Pets are encouraged for a reason: “Bring your dog or cat and we’ll have a selfie station with a holiday frame for upcoming events, both Passover and Easter. Pets mean so much as support animals for people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s disease, especially during Covid,” said Brain Bowl founder, attorney Pamela Polani. “There’s no speeches and we’re not having food trucks. We hope vendors will pass out individually wrapped food and beverages. Admission is only $20 and there’s no formal talks,” Polani added.
“We expect lots of vendors and people can walk around from vendor to vendor. We are not encouraging gathering, so there is no schedule. You can come and go.”
